Reflection for today

A Story Prayer

Story: The Tooth Fairy

I heard a story about a little girl who had lost several teeth and every time she lost a tooth, the Tooth Fairy brought her two dollars. Two dollars was quite a bit of money for a little girl her age, and she was quite happy with what the Tooth Fairy had left. Then, one day she was visiting in the home of one of her friends. Her friend told her that he had lost a tooth and the Tooth Fairy brought him ten dollars! The little girl turned to her friend's mother and said, "Mrs. Spencer, would you do me a big favor? Would you please call my mom and tell her which Tooth Fairy you use?"

Prayer

Jesus, it seems to me that that girl had been quite happy with the two dollars the Tooth Fairy left her until she found out that the Tooth Fairy had left her friend ten dollars. All of a sudden, two dollars was not enough. Isn't that the way it is with many of us? You have blessed us with all that we need, but when we see someone else who has more, we are no longer happy with what we have. We become jealous of them. Jesus, help us to understand that one of the ways of overcoming jealousy is to concentrate not on what others have but on what we have.  Jesus, I think that today I will count my blessings and thank you for each one of them.
Amen

So, it's been for-stinkin-ever since I posted last.  It's gotten to where too much is going on all of the time and when I do find down time, I don't feel like replaying every thing on a blog.  There's just entirely too much.  The main thing which takes up a large majority of time is my new hobby: photography.  I've actually picked up little jobs where I get paid to take pictures at a function and make a memory book.  It's nothing fancy, but it's nice enough and the clients are happy.  I make some extra money during the summer when school is out so why not?  I've found I really enjoy it, but editing and layouts can be so tedious and time consuming.  I do multi-task while editing and such.....load of laundry going, answering emails, dishes, dinner prep.  The kids have been pretty good about keeping up w/their chores so I don't have to worry about vacuuming, trash, or pick up.  On top of that, Jenessa made the All-Star team and has practice 5 days a week as well as plays on a travel tournament team.  Crazy I tell ya!  Anyway, that's pretty much the gist of it.  I'll will try to post again a little sooner than a month at a time.
